The dining scene in Westport is, without a doubt, one of the best in Connecticut. There are numerous highly rated and exceptional restaurants in the area, including The Whelk. One of Westport’s most popular spots, this restaurant is dedicated to serving sustainable seafood and local produce to showcase the best of what this incredible region has to offer. Their menu includes delights such as roasted oysters, local squid with kimchi honey, roast chicken with summer squash, and excellent shrimp and grits.
The Spotted Horse Tavern also showcases the beautiful bounty of the Northeast. Their delectable menu includes crispy brussels sprouts with sesame seeds, Cabernet-braised beef short rib, and exceptional pan-seared diver scallops.

This New American-style restaurant serves elevated comfort dishes like a salmon club sandwich, jumbo lump crab cakes, and a mouthwatering rack of lamb with mint salsa verde. Harvest Wine Bar and Restaurant is another fantastic local spot serving classics like steamed mussels and chorizo, pan-seared halibut with mashed potatoes and beet puree, and a wood-fired grilled organic salmon that guests absolutely adore.  These are only a few.  There is something for everyone.

Things to Do

Not only are Westport residents able to take advantage of the numerous opportunities in surrounding areas, but there is also a plethora of things to do right in town. The Westport Community Playhouse is a staple of the local community, putting on world-class performances throughout the year and acting classes for both children and adults. 
The Longshore Pool Complex and Pavillion is a great place to relax and cool off in the summer, especially for a family with kids. In addition to a lap pool, training pool, and wading pool, the complex also offers a full-service locker room and showers, a concession stand, and an adjacent playground and tennis court. 
There are also several beautiful beach parks in Westport for homeowners to enjoy. Compo Beach is a 29-acre park right on the Long Island Sound. In addition to the sandy shores and boardwalk, this park also offers sand volleyball, a wooden playground, a softball field, basketball courts, and even a skate park.
